No. 99 Toyota Estima (1992)

Introduction

Tomica No. 99 Toyota Estima (トミカ No. 99 トヨタエスティマ) is a toy released within the classic Tomica toyline. It is primarily released in Japan.

Overview

The Toyota Estima was released in June 1992, and retired August, 2000. It replaced the No. 99 Mercedes Benz 300SL and was succeeded by the No. 99 Toyota Estima (2000).

The model was initially available in metallic red and gray until July 1998, where its color was changed to white and metallic gold.

Description

The toy is a 1/64 model of the first generation Toyota Estima, produced between 1992 and 1999. It has super speed and its tailgate can be opened.

Trivia

• This was the first time that Tomica replicated the Toyota Estima. The second generation came out in 2000, replacing this model, while the third generation came out in 2007 to replace that. In addition to those, the third generation's final facelift version was released in 2017 as no.100.

• It is the 4th vehicle to be assigned the number "99", as well as Tomica's first minivan casting.

• It was used as a base for the Toyota Estima (Gulliver), where it was painted in white with black lower cladding. It also appears in turquoise as part of the Leisure Car Set, silver and black in the Deluxe Car Carrier Set and silver with a roof box in the RV Set.
